MML Reticle Value of 1 division
1 Div = 1MIL at 10x
(0.5MIL at 20x)
For example:
If the dot size is 1/8 MOA, and magnification is 60x:
(1/8)*(40/60) = (1/12) MOA
Thus, the 1/8 MOA dot at 40x will cover like a 1/12 MOA dot at 60x.
Conversion chart
Power Reticle
1/16Dot 1/8Dot
60x 1/24MOA 1/12MOA
50x 1/20MOA 1/10MOA
40x 1/16MOA 1/8MOA
30x 1/12MOA 1/6MOA
20x 1/8MOA 1/4MOA
10x 1/4MOA 1/2MOA
For higher magnification, turn the zoom-ring clockwise to align the index mark with the desired power (i.e. 10x - 60x).
Dot size variation with zoom
Because March scopes currently have second focal plane reticles, the apparent reticle dot size does not change with zoom; however, the angular area of the dot against the target will change. For the 10-60x52 scopes, when a reticle dot size of 1/8 MOA or 1/16 MOA is available, it is measured at 40x zoom. To determine the correct value at other zoom levels, the following calculation can be performed:
